Wu Shipeng, Chairman of GGOG, introduced relevant developments. Firstly, he detailed the company's phased achievements over 24 years of oceanic endeavors, emphasizing product upgrades that transitioned from industrial-grade to food-grade, and finally to biopharmaceutical-grade. He also highlighted strengthening core business by developing an integrated 'end-to-end' industry chain: a comprehensive processing and high-value utilization of seaweed forming the 'body', extending upstream to create domestic and international raw material bases and national marine ranches as the 'head', and extending downstream to produce seaweed-based nutrients for plants and animals, as well as health foods, forming the 'tail'. Additionally, he mentioned expanding the industry by establishing an industrial park, a science park, and a base for raw material security both domestically and internationally.
Following the implementation of Qingdao West Coast New Area's 'Opinions on Supporting Large Institutes and Enterprises to Develop towards the District and the Sea', GGOG has joined forces with large institutes, enterprises, and state-owned enterprises within the district to leverage their strengths and create a hub for attracting investment and talent. The main activities include: first, actively connecting with Shandong Talent Group under the guidance of the National Oceanic Administration and local marine bureaus, utilizing the Hai Kong Marine Biopharmaceutical Science and Technology Park to gather high-end marine education resources from institutions like Ocean University of China, Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, co-building the Taishan Advanced Manager Training Center in Qingdao. Second, transforming the Lingwang Bay Judayang National-level Marine Ranch Demonstration Base project. Following the guidelines of the District Marine Development Bureau, this involves upgrading traditional raft farming to platform-based sightseeing, tourism, and efficient three-dimensional farming, while also developing a plan for the efficient utilization of resources around Huangfa Group's Longmen Top construction dock to build the Lingwang Bay Marine Industry Technology Innovation Exchange Center, creating an upgraded version of the national-level marine ranch that focuses on the development of the Longmen Top Modern Marine Industry Complex Project, converting the former waiting hall into the Lingwang Bay Marine Industry Technology Innovation Exchange Center. Third, introducing large institutes to establish collaborative innovation centers. Leveraging the largest scale of Lingwang Bay oyster and scallop raft farming area in Shandong Province and the largest national-level marine ranch cluster in Qingdao, five universities and research institutes have already been established on-site, conducting research and services such as new species development and promotion, new aquaculture facility development, marine ecological environment inspection and monitoring, marine ranch food development, marine ranch construction plan preparation, and marine ranch construction effectiveness evaluation, significantly enhancing the level of marine ranch industry development and forming a new highlight of high-quality marine development in the new area.
Director Sui Junchang of Qingdao West Coast New Area Marine Development Bureau delivered a speech. Director Sui pointed out that GGOG, as a local enterprise grown within the new area, has continuously engaged in internal and external collaborations over the years, strengthening connections with universities and research institutions, and expanding its business areas. This effort aims to inject new vitality into the future development of the entire new area. He also mentioned that the Marine Bureau will actively promote university-enterprise cooperation, especially leveraging the role of Shandong Province's Marine Science and Technology Achievement Enterprise Research and Development Center to facilitate technology transfer between universities and enterprises. Additionally, more policies will be introduced to support the development of marine-related enterprises in the new area, promote the transformation of marine scientific and technological achievements, and boost the overall development of the marine economy in the new area.
